Kobel Dubique, MD, MMSc-GHD
Kobel Dubique, MD, MMSc-GHD is a family medicine practitioner, researcher, and global health specialist. Dr. Dubique’s work has been informed by a strong commitment to accompaniment and interest in the social determinants of health. He served as the medical director of a clinic in Haiti, delivering health care to the largest internally displaced persons’ (IDPs) camp, which housed more than 50,000 survivors following the 2010 earthquake. Dr. Dubique holds an MD from the medical school in Cuba, and a Master’s of Medical Sciences in Global Health Delivery (MMSc-GHD) from Harvard Medical School (HMS), focusing his research on the role of institutional responses in reducing structural violence in humanitarian settings. He has served as Principal Investigator (PI) and co-Principal Investigator (co-PI) on qualitative, quantitative and mixed-methods studies on a range of public health topics. He currently works at the intersection of education and medicine, teaching research methods and mentoring residents as they complete the research requirements of their respective residency programs. Through this and his previous experiences teaching medical topics at Aristide University and Clemson University, he is well versed on the functioning of global medical education in Haiti. Dr. Dubique speaks, English, French, Haitian-Creole and Spanish.
